Refurbish Continues, Started Axle & Differential Tear Down

Spent most of the evenings this past week sand blasting, priming and painting. This weekend we continued that process and started the tear down on the axles, brakes, tie rods, ball joints, etc.
We are going back to the stock exhaust manifolds for the Moab trip. We bought Flowmaster Super 44 dual mufflers so we can tuck them up inside the frame for rock crawling. We determined headers outside the frame with side pipes were just a disaster waiting to happen in that terrain.
The front and rear bumpers, the tire carrier, the winch plate and all the support brackets. Painted and ready for installation when we get there in a few weeks.

Did a little clean up to some of the motor parts while we had easy access. Also put new belts, radiator and heater hoses on. Will take the spares on our trip.
Pressing the OEM ball joints out. You can tell they were the 36 year old originals. We tried pressing them out and the spindle was starting to flex so we soaked them with PB Blaster for hours vs bending the spindle. They did eventually come out.
Front factory differential. Replacing it with an ARB air locker.
Getting closer every day!
All the pieces parts for the front axles and brakes, ready for cleaning, sandblasting, rebuilding, etc.
Pressing the wheel hub off the brake rotor. Had to soak them too! they did not want to come off but eventually did, the PB Blaster is great stuff!
One before sand blasting and one after......
The Man Cave is starting to fill up with parts ready for assembly.
